The Golden Optimists are part of the global service organization, Optimist International, an association of more than 2,900 Optimist Clubs around the world dedicated to “Bringing Out the Best in Kids.” Each Optimist Club determines the needs of the young people in its community and conducts programs to meet those needs.
The Golden Optimists have been serving the Golden community for over 25 years.
Programs
The Golden Optimists support three major annual projects: a school supply drive for Golden elementary and middle schools; forensics club support and an oratorical contest for Golden High School students; and its “Bicycle Recycle Program”. In addition, we support requests from individuals and non-profits serving the Golden community, including Eagle Scout projects from Golden Troop 613.

Our organization also directly involves Golden-based Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops in local service projects and outreach. In addition to strong ties with the Golden schools, it has a well-established relationship with the Colorado School of Mines, whose students are the recipients of many of our bicycles.
We have annual service projects planned, get more detail here:

The Golden Optimists sponsor an Oratorical Contest for Golden High School students. Contestants may earn money and the winners will advance to competing in district contests.
